I hold a doctorate in Individual and Family Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (now Alliant University) in Los Angeles. I completed a post doc at the Wright Institute LA, a training site and clinic for psychodynamic and contemporary psychoanalytic therapy.
In 1997, I started my private practice in Los Angeles, working primarily with clients in the film industry. Since 2005, I have practiced in Boulder, CO.
I’ve had a lifelong fascination with personal development. When I was 17, I first sought meditation to help with my own stress, and have explored various forms of meditation, self-compassion work, and mindful movement since then. Following my training in talk therapy, I went on to study interpersonal neurobiology (the study of the mind, brain, and relationships), attachment theory, energy psychology, somatic psychology, and hypnosis.
Along the way, I trained through advanced levels in several systems of trauma therapy, including: Trauma-Informed Hypnotherapy, EMDR, and Brainspotting. The comprehensive training I received has helped me to identify foundational principles of healing.
If we work together, you’ll have various methods available to help you continue to move forward. My intention is to provide real relief and lasting change so you can thrive in your life and work. We’ll collaborate to identify techniques that best work for you. Even though we may address core issues, we’ll do so in a playful and tolerable way.
As so many people suffer from the belief they are not good enough, and the research in self-compassion training is so compelling, a guiding focus in my work is helping my clients become self-compassionate.
The root of the word “doctor” is “teacher”. I enjoy teaching healing principles and practices to my clients.
